Job summary

The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks an Associate Director of Operations within Disability Services to oversee all operational aspects and ensure ADA compliance, program delivery, and day-to-day support for campus constituents.

Reporting to the Director, the Associate Director leads an operations team, manages budgets, coordinates accommodations, and partners with IT and campus offices to improve accessibility and services for students and the university community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; five years’ experience serving individuals with disabilities.
• Knowledge of ADA/ADAA 2008 and related guidelines.
• Demonstrated administrative and budget management experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, portals for communication, and database management.
• Familiarity with adaptive technology equipment, apps, and usage.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and administer ADA-related policies and services.
• Administer services for prospective and current students and the public.
• Apply ADA guidelines and related regulations across departments.
• Lead the Operations Team and supervise Access Coordinators.
• Ensure ADA compliance and appropriate accommodations are provided.
• Monitor department budgets and conduct quarterly reviews.
• Maintain records and data reporting on program outcomes.
• Collaborate with Director and SACL IT to manage systems.
• Provide outreach, training, and staff development on accessibility.
