Qualifications

• Bar admission in any state.
• Social Security experience preferred, but inexperienced candidates with the right attributes will be considered.
• Ability to quickly learn a new area of law.
• Receptive to training and coaching; able to implement feedback quickly.
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork.
• Excellent legal writing, analysis and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle new client meetings and intake.
• Analyze cases for strengths and weaknesses.
• Draft briefs for the Social Security Administration.
• Represent clients in 10-20 hearings per month before SSA.
• Draft Appeals Council briefs.
• Collaborate with legal assistants, case managers and staff.
• Participate in discussions and mock oral arguments to prepare for court.
