Job summary

Sky Climber Renewables is seeking a Director – Major Component Exchange (MCE) to lead the planning and execution of wind turbine major component replacements across North America. The role requires strong project management, field leadership, safety accountability, and collaboration with customers, crane providers, OEMs, and engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of wind-energy industry experience.
• 3–5 years leading MCE, heavy-lift, construction, installation, or complex wind-turbine service projects.
• Demonstrated experience with major component replacement activities.
• Strong understanding of wind turbine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience coordinating cranes, heavy lifts, rigging, tooling, and field personnel.
• Demonstrated project management experience including scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and customer communication.
• Ability to read and interpret OEM procedures, technical drawings, manuals, and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, mobilization, execution, and closeout of Major Component Exchange projects across the operating territory.
• Coordinate schedules, field personnel, cranes, rigging, tooling, transportation, materials, subcontractors, and customer requirements.
• Develop detailed project execution plans prior to mobilization and ensure staffing aligns with schedules.
• Drive safety, quality, and field execution improvements.
• Manage crane selection, mobilization, and coordination with crane providers and customers.
• Provide leadership to field teams, recruit and develop MCE personnel, and mentor future leaders.
