Job summary

Panorama Energy Services is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to lead Major Component Exchange work across our wind turbine service portfolio. This role combines hands-on mechanical expertise with leadership to diagnose field issues, develop training, and drive safety and quality improvements across PES field teams.

You will work with GE, Vestas, Acciona/Nordex, and Siemens platforms, lead recovery efforts during catastrophic events, and design tooling and process improvements in

Qualifications

• 7–10 years hands-on experience with major component exchanges, troubleshooting and site maintenance on wind turbines.
• Experience across GE, Vestas, Acciona/Nordex, and Siemens (Siemens Gamesa).
• Proven leadership directing field crews or technical teams, including high-pressure or emergency situations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for field crews and leadership.
• Experience developing field processes, procedures, and work instructions.
• Experience designing or fabricating small tooling solutions for field challenges.
• Subject matter expertise in EHS aspects of wind turbine maintenance (fall protection, LOTO, crane/rigging, Stop Work Authority).
• Subject matter expertise in quality aspects (torque/tension standards, OEM specs, inspections).
• Ability to diagnose systemic issues and build training/programmatic solutions.
• Current GWO BTT, BST, and ART training.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform major component exchanges (gearboxes, generators, main bearings, blades, yaw/pitch systems) on GE, Vestas, Acciona/Nordex, and Siemens wind turbines.
• Troubleshoot and maintain sites, diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with limited direction.
• Lead response and recovery for catastrophic events, coordinating strategy, resources, and safe execution.
• Identify recurring field issues and implement corrective actions and preventive programs.
• Design and deliver technician training to build competency and prevent recurrence.
• Develop field processes and work instructions to standardize execution across crews and platforms.
• Design and fabricate small tooling to improve safety, efficiency, or quality.
• Ensure safety compliance and Stop Work Authority in field operations.
• Collaborate with EHS, Resource Managers, and Project Managers on risks, staffing, and project status.
