About the Role
The Director of Video is responsible for leading the execution of Video investments effectively for Gap Inc. and its brands. Sitting within the Marketing Shared Services organization, this role leverages deep understanding of Digital and Linear video channel strategies and best practices to execute all video media campaigns for Gap Inc.’s brands, including direct and programmatic transactions. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Video and Creator Strategy, they will collaborate with channel experts to manage investment across all four brands and work with Gap Inc.’s media agency’s video investment team. The role involves evaluating Video activity enterprise-wide to identify opportunities for economies of scale and enhancing Video investment.
What You'll Do
- Guide day-to-day Video media activation and execution, managing Gap Inc. and Media Agency resources dedicated to Video activation.
- Establish enterprise-wide best practices for Video through standardized planning, technology, and tools.
- Oversee Video media buying by the Media Agency, including linear upfront buying, pricing strategies, guarantees, and preferred positioning to ensure effectiveness.
- Monitor activity to ensure Video investment meets KPIs, proactively recommending adjustments to achieve marketing goals.
- Identify optimization opportunities across brands, including eliminating duplicative efforts and increasing efficiencies.
- Provide insights to channel planners to inform media strategy and allocation for planning and campaigns.
- Collaborate with Creative and Brand teams to optimize creative for video formats pre- and post-production.
- Develop media innovations to improve Video performance, including industry innovations, marketing partnerships, tech stack needs, and new vendors.
- Drive continuous ROI improvements by understanding the Video landscape and identifying enhancement opportunities.
- Share Video insights and best practices across the media organization and brand teams.
- Work with Measurement teams to refine Video measurement practices.
- Collaborate on converging strategies with other channel activation leads.
- Manage relationships with Video publishers and platforms to foster first-to-market partnerships.
Who You Are
- 8+ years marketing experience with 5+ years in video investment.
- 3+ years managing teams, demonstrating collaborative leadership and team building.
- Extensive experience planning and executing Video campaigns.
- Deep knowledge of Video channel best practices and trends.
- Experience in complex, matrixed organizations working cross-functionally.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and consensus-building.
- Change agent capable of fostering positive culture change.
- Entrepreneurial mindset to navigate ambiguity, drive change, and strategize at all levels.
