Energy Transfer is seeking a Director of Upstream Accounting to lead the Upstream Crude Accounting team in Dallas. The role drives close processes, revenue recognition, JIB, and capex analysis while shaping policy and internal controls.

You will mentor staff, collaborate across functions, and partner with leadership to align goals with operational and financial performance. CPA preferred and 8–12+ years in upstream accounting in oil and gas.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA strongly preferred.
• 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant time in upstream oil and gas accounting.
• Deep knowledge of upstream accounting practices including revenue recognition, JIB, production accounting, AFEs, and DD&A.
• Proficiency with SAP, JVA, and PRA preferred.

Aufgaben

• Lead and manage the upstream accounting team, including revenue, joint interest, production, and fixed asset/AFE accounting functions.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for upstream operations with accurate revenue and cost recognition.
• Direct joint interest billing (JIB) processes, partner billing, cash calls, settlements, and audit support.
• Ensure proper accounting for exploration and development costs, including successful efforts, AFE tracking, capitalization, and impairment testing.
• Support internal and external audits, including joint venture audits, and respond to partner/regulatory inquiries.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting on LOE, capex, well economics, and property performance.
• Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls for upstream operations.
