Job summary

Whitley Penn is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Dallas team, focusing on Oil & Gas Upstream accounting. You will work with the Energy Practice leader to design tools, systems, and processes for upstream clients and oversee the Oil & Gas Accounting group’s operations, staffing, and client relations.

The role requires advanced technical skills, strong supervisory abilities, and a track record in developing associates and new business opportunities for the firm.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Oil & Gas accounting/analysis, Upstream/E&P
• Experience setting up accounting functions/processes
• Proficiency with accounting software and GAAP knowledge
• BA or MSc in accounting; CPA/APA preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop tools and processes for Oil & Gas Upstream accounting.
• Oversee Oil & Gas Accounting group operations, staffing, and client satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and firm policies.
• Manage client relationships and proactively identify value-added services.
