Qualifications

• Master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience with clinical research study design, data management, statistical analysis, and grant writing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive clinical and translational science strategy aligned with Cook Children's priorities.
• Lead efforts to grow investigator-initiated and externally funded research portfolios.
• Build scalable services supporting study design, protocol development, project management, grant preparation, and collaboration.
• Provide scientific leadership and foster a teamscience culture among clinicians, scientists, data scientists, and collaborators.
• Partner with Research Informatics to enable data platforms, analytics, and digital tools while respecting platform ownership.
• Develop external partnerships and consortia to enhance visibility and impact.
• Strengthen the workforce through education, mentoring, and professional development.
• Ensure research activities meet regulatory, ethical, and institutional requirements with IRB, Compliance, Privacy, Legal, and InfoSec.
• Provide leadership and management for the department, including budgeting and staffing.
