Sonder Research X in North Brunswick, NJ, is hiring a Director of Translational Oncology to lead an oncology research lab and advance biomarker programs. You will guide wet-lab researchers, drive translational science, and partner with clinical development to ensure biological insights inform trial design.

The role requires deep tumor biology expertise, experience with archival and prospective biospecimens, and a track record of regulatory-ready translational insights.

Qualifications

• PhD in Cancer Biology, Translational Oncology, or related field.
• 8+ years in cancer biology research; leadership of an oncology lab.
• Experience leading an oncology research program in academia or industry.
• Solid tumor biology, translational cancer research expertise.
• Hands-on tissue processing, histology, IHC/IF, and microscopy.
• Experience with 3D cultures, organoids, patient-derived models.
• Strong publication record with senior authorship.
• Able to collaborate with academic and clinical partners.

Responsabilités

• Lead a wet-lab team of Ph.D. scientists in our North Brunswick facility.
• Drive basic tumor biology studies to identify biomarkers.
• Design and supervise biomarker validation and translational studies.
• Co-author high-impact publications and contribute to regulatory filings.
• Advise clinical development teams on biology and trial stratification.
• Foster collaborations with academic investigators and external partners.
