Job summary

Merck is seeking a Distinguished Scientist to lead translational clinical biomarkers. Based in USA (NJ/PA/Boston), you will spearhead biomarker strategy across oncology platforms from pre-FIH to Phase 3 and beyond, supervising PhD-/MD-level scientists and collaborating across functional teams to deliver translational biomarker outcomes.

Qualifications

PhD/MD or MD/PhD with at least 15 years in oncology biomarker studies and translational clinical research.
Proven leadership in cross-functional, matrixed teams across drug discovery and clinical development.

Responsibilities

Oversight of translational biomarker efforts across clinical product development programs in multiple indications.
Lead a group of PhD-/MD-level scientists embedded in oncology clinical development programs.
Develop testable biomarker strategies and align with portfolio objectives.
Collaborate with clinical and translational teams to implement biomarker plans.
Engage external KOLs for collaborations and publish biomarker research.
Interface with translational and discovery labs to drive preclinical projects to clinical translation.
