Job summary

Transit Technologies in the United States seeks a Director of Engineering for TransitOS. This remote leadership role oversees OnDemand, Paratransit, NEMT, and BrokerLink engineering and partners with Product, Architecture, and leadership to deliver scalable, reliable software.

You will balance people leadership with hands-on technical direction, shaping architecture, code quality, testing, and deployment practices across onshore and offshore teams to drive platform convergence and customer

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• 4+ years leading engineering organizations delivering enterprise SaaS applications.
• Experience managing teams of approximately 10-15 engineers, technical leads, and QA professionals.
• Hands-on technical leadership with architecture discussions, code reviews, and decisions.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, data modeling, and integrations.
• Experience leading teams through the complete software development lifecycle.
• Proven ability to hire, mentor, coach, and develop engineering talent.
• Experience leading geographically distributed teams, including offshore.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead engineering and QA teams across multiple product lines.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and mentor exceptional engineering talent.
• Foster ownership, accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Conduct regular coaching conversations, performance reviews, and career development planning.
• Establish clear ownership across engineering teams and promote cross-functional collaboration.
• Stay involved in technical design, architecture discussions, reviews, and decisions.
• Define and maintain engineering standards for testing, documentation, observability, performance, and maintainability.
• Partner with Architecture to align with enterprise architecture and platform convergence.
