FirstEnergy is seeking a Director of Business Transformation Analytics & Automation to lead data, analytics, and automation disciplines across the enterprise. You will shape the analytical foundation, drive durable value, and partner with IT on tooling and platform decisions.

This role anchors in Akron with hybrid travel across the territory. You will build a high-performing team, set rigorous standards, and ensure responsible AI practices while delivering measurable benefits and strategic

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, analytics, engineering, information systems, business, or related discipline and at least 10 years of leadership experience with 8 years in relevant work.
• Experience leading data, analytics, automation, or technology delivery work.
• Ability to set direction and evaluate quality in analytics and AI.
• Experience leading and developing a team of technical individual contributors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for senior leaders.
• Ability to manage a portfolio of concurrent initiatives and deliver quality work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team across data & analytics and automation & AI.
• Set methods, standards, and quality expectations and review work before it reaches the business unit.
• Allocate specialist capacity across units and resolve competing demand with Portfolio Managers.
• Ensure defensible value sizing basis and realized benefits at close.
• Manage IT tooling, data platform decisions, and automation handoffs.
• Represent disciplines to executive leadership and defend methodologies.
• Identify data gaps and architecture constraints and advocate resolutions.
• Maintain a forward view of automation opportunities enterprise-wide.
• Partner with IT, Risk, Legal, and Compliance on responsible AI standards.
• Build analytics and automation literacy across the business.
• Manage third-party analytics, automation, and platform partners.
