Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking an Asset Performance Management Engineer to monitor, evaluate, and improve the health and reliability of transmission and distribution assets through data-driven analysis and risk-based decisions.

You will support asset management strategies, perform contingency assessments, and drive improvements to APM systems, dashboards, and reporting in collaboration with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• BSEE/BSCE/BSME from ABET accredited school or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of engineering experience.
• Understanding of transmission and distribution substations preferred.
• Knowledge of substation maintenance practices preferred.
• Ability to analyze large datasets; database familiarity preferred.
• Strong analytical and technical abilities; good communication.
• Familiarity with APM, Cascade, QlikView, SAP, TOA4, PI Vision, DobleWeb preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Access, Power BI, Word.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess the condition, performance, and reliability of assets.
• Develop asset health methodologies and risk assessments.
• Lead asset risk reviews and mitigation planning with stakeholders.
• Support APM implementation, data governance, and dashboards.
• Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to improve data quality.
• Provide technical recommendations for maintenance and investment decisions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of asset management processes.
