Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking an HR Reporting & Analytics professional to transform HR data into actionable insights. You will respond to urgent data requests, design reports and dashboards, and ensure data integrity while collaborating with HR, Finance, and leadership.

The role emphasizes requirements gathering, documentation, and ongoing learning in Power BI, Oracle OTBI, and other tools within a regulated utility context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Data Science, or related discipline with 4 years of related experience in reporting or data analysis
• Ability to gather requirements from stakeholders and translate into technical specifications
• Designs and develops reports and dashboards with moderate complexity; performs basic testing and validation
• Demonstrates effective communication and collaboration with HR and business teams
• Maintains documentation of report development processes and ensures data integrity
• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of related experience in HR reporting or analytics
• In lieu of a degree, 9 years of related experience required
• Related experience includes in-depth knowledge of SQL, HCM tools, and data visualization platforms (Power BI, Oracle, Tableau, Workday)
• Independently develops and delivers ad-hoc and recurring reports
• Performs advanced data extraction, cleaning, and validation across multiple systems
• Leads process-improvement efforts and automation opportunities
• Provides technical support and training to HR staff; ensures privacy compliance

Responsibilities

• Respond to one-time and urgent data requests from HR, Finance, and leadership teams
• Extract, clean, and analyze data from various systems (e.g., Oracle HCM, Power BI, Excel)
• Deliver clear, accurate, and timely reports tailored to stakeholder needs
• Develop dashboards and scheduled reports for leaders across HR and Business Units
• Work closely with requestors to clarify reporting needs and define success criteria
• Translate business questions into technical reporting requirements
• Ensure all reports meet data privacy, security, and compliance standards
• Validate data sources and perform quality assurance checks before delivery
• Document ad-hoc request outcomes and identify patterns for potential automation
• Recommend improvements to streamline, automate, or build dashboards for recurring ad-hoc reporting processes
• Stay current with reporting tools and data platforms; share knowledge within the team
