Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC seeks a Director, Technology Ventures to lead the corporate venture capital organization and drive growth through strategic investments and partnerships. The role identifies disruptive technologies, evaluates opportunities, and forges relationships with startups and funds to align with Southwire’s portfolio strategy.

You will architect the venture investing framework, partnering with business units to accelerate growth, value creation, and enterprise strategy.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Technology, or related field.
• Preferred: MBA or advanced technical degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, CS).
• Extensive leadership experience in venture capital, corporate development, or technology strategy (15+ years).

Responsibilities

• Lead corporate venture capital strategy, portfolio, and thesis aligned with growth priorities.
• Source, evaluate, and execute investments in technology startups.
• Present investment updates to executives and governance committees.
• Identify emerging technologies and market trends impacting power delivery and energy infrastructure.
• Build strategic partnerships with startups, venture funds, and industry partners.
• Drive commercial opportunities and pilot collaborations between units and portfolio companies.
