Job summary

ING Americas is seeking a Director, Technology Delivery and Portfolio Management in New York to oversee the technology portfolio and ensure delivery of strategic, regulatory, risk and business initiatives. The role partners with Finance on budgeting and investments, and leads a high-performing delivery organization in a hybrid work model.

The incumbent will establish standards, manage scope, schedule and cost, and provide executive dashboards for CIO governance committees, driving accountability

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in technology delivery, portfolio management, program management or technology transformation.
• Experience managing a complex portfolio of technology initiatives.
• Experience in banking, financial services or another regulated industry is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of portfolio governance, delivery assurance, financial management and resource planning.
• Experience in presenting delivery and investment information to senior executives and governance committees.
• Strong understanding of Agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery approaches.
• Bachelor’s degree in technology, business or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• PMP, PgMP, PfMP, PRINCE2, Agile or similar certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the consolidated technology portfolio and delivery roadmap.
• Lead the intake, assessment, prioritization and governance of technology initiatives.
• Oversee the delivery of major programs, projects and regulatory commitments.
• Monitor scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues and dependencies.
• Develop executive dashboards and management reporting for the CIO and governance committees.
• Partner with Finance on technology budgeting, forecasting and investment tracking.
• Coordinate resource and capacity planning across technology teams.
• Establish and maintain delivery methodologies, standards, controls and stage-gate requirements.
• Lead portfolio and delivery-governance forums and ensure clear decisions and accountability.
• Provide early escalation of material delivery, financial, resource or control concerns.
• Support regulatory examinations, audits and risk-remediation programs.
• Build and lead a high-performing portfolio, program and project-management team.
• Drive continuous improvement in delivery quality, predictability and transparency.
