Job summary

Citrin Cooperman is seeking a Business Advisory Solutions Director to lead our Tax Department. The role focuses on reviewing tax closings, answering client inquiries on compliance matters, and performing tax research to ensure accurate reporting.

The position involves budgeting, staffing, and workload planning, while guiding staff and maintaining strong client relationships. Candidates should have a CPA, 10+ years in public accounting, and proven leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA certification required.
• Minimum of 10 years of public accounting experience, including 4+ years in a managerial role.
• Tax knowledge required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to supervise staff at all levels.
• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with others.
• Outstanding analytical, organizational and project management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.

Responsibilities

• Review tax closings and tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Field client questions on all compliance matters (income tax, franchise tax, sales/use tax, labor, benefits).
• Perform tax and accounting research as needed to support reporting.
• Develop budgets, pricing, staff assignment, workload planning, and reporting.
• Provide direction and supervision to staff, earning trust of client management.
• Oversee staff and coordinating day-to-day planning, preparation, review and wrap-up.
• Contribute to client relationships through positive interactions with client personnel.
• Support staff training and performance feedback.
• Contribute to firm growth through business development.
