Job summary

Whelen Engineering, Chester, CT (or Charlestown, NH) seeks a Manager, Talent Management to build an integrated Talent Management capability, lead the L&D function, and drive enterprise talent programs. You will own talent strategy, workforce planning, leadership development, and career pathways, partnering with HR to deliver measurable business impact.

The role reports to the VP of Human Resources and will be part of the HR Leadership Team, with responsibilities spanning job architecture,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in talent management, Learning & Development, organizational development, or related HR disciplines.
• Experience leading or providing significant oversight of an L&D function, team, or enterprise learning portfolio.
• Experience translating business and workforce needs into learning, development, and talent priorities.
• Strong executive presence, facilitation, coaching, analytical, change management, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own Whelen’s enterprise talent strategy and workforce planning, aligning multiple HR domains into an integrated talent agenda.
• Lead Whelen’s Learning & Development function, setting strategy, priorities, and measures for the L&D team.
• Own the enterprise L&D strategy and annual plan, tying investments to business priorities and capability needs.
• Oversee the learning portfolio, connect learning to performance, and drive career paths and internal mobility.
• Design and govern succession planning for leadership and critical roles, driving enterprise reviews.

Education

5+ years of progressive experience in talent management, L&D, or OD

Experience leading or overseeing an L&D function or enterprise learning

Experience across talent disciplines: workforce planning, succession, performance, leadership development

Strong executive presence, facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder management
