Job summary

New Mexico State University seeks a strategic Director of Talent Acquisition to lead recruitment across the university and system. This role shapes employment branding, implements equitable hiring practices, and drives efficient talent pipelines from recruitment through onboarding.

The Director will coach a team of HR professionals, develop metrics aligned to the university’s mission, and use innovative approaches including AI, social media, and networks to attract top talent for a land‑grant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree + 5 years of related experience, including 2 years supervisory.
• Equivalent qualifications may substitute for minimum requirements.
• Preferred: HRCI or SHRM Certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the talent acquisition process for the entire employment life cycle across NMSU and system institutions.
• Create and implement an employment brand reflecting NMSU's mission, values, and culture.
• Lead efforts to attract, hire, and retain talent using AI, social media, and networking to deliver top candidates.
• Develop and track metrics aligned with the University’s strategic mission and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee new employee orientation and first-year experience programs and supervise HR professionals.
