Job summary

Bausch + Lomb is seeking a Director of Surgical Clinical Development to lead global clinical strategy for the surgical device portfolio, including IOLs, inserters, lasers, and phaco systems. You will design trials, guide regulatory submissions, and build evidence to support market access worldwide.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in medical device clinical development, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of GCP and international regulatory pathways.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in clinical/biomedical science.
• 7+ years in medical device clinical development focusing on ophthalmic surgery.
• Proven track record of global strategy and regulatory submissions.
• Knowledge of GCP, ISO 14155, and global medical device regulations.
• Experience with pivotal and post-market studies, registries and real-world evidence.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead global clinical development strategy for surgical device programs.
• Serve as clinical voice on regulatory submissions across major pathways.
• Design and oversee clinical trials including pivotal and post‑approval studies.
• Align clinical priorities with company objectives and timely evidence delivery.
• Develop regulatory and clinical documents (plans, protocols, reports).
• Collaborate with R&D, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial teams.
• Engage with investigators, KOLs, and external stakeholders.
• Align strategy with evolving regulatory pathways and global submissions.
• Mentor teams and manage project sub-teams for clarity and pace.
• Support market-expansion with evidence-generation tailored to payers.
