Job summary

Moss & Associates LLC, a national construction leader and top solar contractor, seeks a Director, Substation to lead EPC field operations for large-scale energy projects nationwide. You will shape safety, quality, schedule, and cost outcomes while guiding a high-performing substation team.

Travel 50%+ to project sites; collaborate with Civil, Electrical, Engineering and project teams; build strategic relationships with subcontractors and clients to deliver on portfolio goals.

Qualifications

• Education in construction management, electrical engineering, business, or related discipline; and/or 10+ years of utility-scale substation leadership.
• Proven track record developing enterprise-wide substation strategies with operational excellence.
• Strong subcontractor management, performance oversight, and cost control.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Quality, Safety).
• Willingness to travel 50%+ to project sites and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety standards across substation ops; enforce policies and corrective actions.
• Drive strategic planning and execution for Substation Field Operations; align with project teams.
• Oversee subcontractor mobilization, sequencing, productivity, schedule recovery, and closeout.
• Review and enforce quality per contract drawings, specs, and work instructions.
• Manage substation project budgets and drive cost improvements; identify risks.
• Serve as Estimator-Doer for substation estimates and support award decisions.
• Build and manage relationships with client, suppliers, and subcontractors; promote Moss values.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing substation team.
