Job summary

Moss, a national construction leader and solar contractor, seeks a Director, Substation to lead Moss’ Substation EPC Field Operations nationwide. You will drive strategic planning, supervise subcontractor performance, and ensure safety, quality, schedule and budget across large-scale energy projects.

The role requires building high-performing teams, managing client and supplier relationships, and translating strategy into field execution while traveling 50%+ to project sites.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in utility-scale substation or energy EPC operations.
• Proven track record leading enterprise substation strategies.
• Strong subcontractor performance oversight and field execution accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead Moss’ Substation Field Operations; set direction for site execution and safety.
• Drive strategic planning, subcontractor capacity, and performance expectations.
• Oversee mobilization, sequencing, productivity, schedule recovery and closeout.
• Ensure quality against contract requirements, drawings, specs, and work instructions.
• Manage substation project budgets; identify and resolve cost impacts and risks.
• Provide operational input on scope, constructability, risk, and execution approach.
• Support subcontractor award decisions with pricing and schedule data.
• Build and manage key client, supplier, and subcontractor relationships.
