Job summary

Alcon in Irvine, CA seeks a Director, Strategic Sourcing - Surgical to lead strategic sourcing for direct materials in the Supply Chain. You will build a high-performing procurement team, drive RFQs/RFPs, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure contracts align with business goals.

Relocation is offered, sponsorship is not. The role requires extensive experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and analytics to unlock value and reduce PPV. Annual pay range is $181,050–$234,300.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• 10 Years of Relevant Experience
• 6 Years of Demonstrated Leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing activities across direct materials including Electronics and electromechanical components, Contract manufacturing and other assembly services
• Drive RFQs/RFPs, supplier negotiations, and contract execution to deliver cost savings and PPV improvements
• Manage supplier performance (delivery, quality, cost) and lead business reviews with key suppliers
• Identify and mitigate supply risks and ensure compliance with procurement policies and contracting standards
• Utilize AI and advanced analytics to drive smarter sourcing decisions and supplier insights
