Alcon in Irvine, CA seeks a Director, Strategic Sourcing - Surgical to lead strategic sourcing for direct materials in the Supply Chain. You will build a high-performing procurement team, drive RFQs/RFPs, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure contracts align with business goals.

Relocation is offered, sponsorship is not. The role requires extensive experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and analytics to unlock value and reduce PPV. Annual pay range is $181,050–$234,300.

Responsabilités

Alcon is looking to hire a Director, Strategic Sourcing - Surgical, that is a part of Alcon’s Supply Chain function, a team that manages the logistics, inventory management, and supply chain analytics for Alcon's industry leading products to ensure products are delivered efficiently and effectively so that people can see brilliantly.

The Director, Strategic Sourcing (Management Path), is primarily responsible for leading strategic sourcing activities, building supplier relationships, and ensuring procurement aligns with business goals.

Serve as the primary procurement interface for the Irvine site, ensuring alignment with business and operational objectives. Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team, driving accountability and execution excellence. Lead and execute strategic sourcing initiatives across direct materials, including Electronics and electromechanical components, Contract manufacturing and other assembly services, Metal components and molded plastics. Drive RFQs/RFPs, supplier negotiations, and contract execution to deliver cost savings and PPV improvements. Manage supplier performance, including delivery, quality, and cost; lead business reviews with key suppliers. Identify and mitigate supply risks, including single-source dependencies and capacity constraints. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracting standards, and supplier governance processes. Supply chain PV delivery and cost savings vs. plan. Supplier performance (OTIF, quality, responsiveness, reduction in supply disruptions). % dual/alternate sourcing and contract coverage. Strong commercial acumen and negotiation expertise. Ability to utilize AI and advanced analytics to drive smarter sourcing decisions, unlock supplier insights, and accelerate value creation. Proven track record of managing advanced supplier ecosystem.
