Job summary

Deploy's Client is seeking a Director, Estimating & Preconstruction to lead the organization’s preconstruction and pricing across di m different platform categories. This leader owns cost intelligence, standards, and strategic pricing decisions at the enterprise level.

The role requires heavy collaboration with Finance, Technology, and executive leadership to ensure accurate bids, margin protection, and scalable estimating capabilities across emerging building types.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 12+ years in construction with 6+ years in Preconstruction/Estimating and leadership.
• Experience owning estimate accuracy and improving variance, hit rate, or margin.

Responsibilities

• Own accuracy, integrity, and margin impact of preconstruction estimates at an organizational level.
• Hold final review/approval over pursuit pricing prior to executive sign-off.
• Own estimate-to-actual performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Define and uphold organization-wide estimating standards and data practices.
• Own preconstruction database as an enterprise asset and direct technology investments.
• Lead capacity planning, pricing assumptions, escalation strategy, and headcount for estimating.
• Stand up estimating capability for new building types and platforms.
• Design and evolve the Estimating & Preconstruction organization; manage hiring and succession.
• Mentor and develop Associate Directors and Managers.
• Set standards for procurement, RFPs, and price leveling.
• Own go/no-go decisions from an estimating standpoint.
