Job summary

Liberty Mutual Group is seeking a Director, State Operations to lead state profitability and growth across multiple markets. You will shape pricing, underwriting and distribution strategies, partnering with Product, Claims and Compliance to execute state plans.

The role requires MBA and 8–10+ years of experience with a strong track record in managing state-level business performance, regulatory engagement, and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• MBA or appropriate experience required.
• 8 to 10+ years progressively responsible work experience, with state business plan or related functions.
• Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, influencing and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Establishes objectives for state(s) in terms of growth and profitability.
• Develops, reviews, and implements strategies integrating sales, service, underwriting, pricing and claims.
• Collaborates with Product and other departments to maximize program effectiveness while maintaining compliance.
• Monitors market changes and regulatory issues impacting programs.
• Manages catastrophe exposure strategies at the state level.
• Analyzes data and coordinates pricing and underwriting changes with teams.
• Represents the company with regulatory agencies and industry groups; completes filings.
• Works with distribution channels to develop new business volume and quality standards.
