Job summary

AECOM Advisory is seeking a Director in the US East Region (Boston, MA area) to lead business development for the State and Local Government sector. You will oversee engagement delivery, shape client solutions, and drive practice development across multiple delivery teams.

The role requires a strong seller-doer background in management consulting, excellence in communication with senior executives, and the ability to manage complex programs and cross‑functional teams. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• BS/BA +12 years of related experience with leadership capacity
• Proven seller-doer track record in a management consulting firm
• U.S. citizenship is required
• MBA or related masters preferred
• 12+ years in management consulting or related industry
• Capital projects advisory and ESG strategy experience welcome

Responsibilities

• Drive business development opportunities in the US East Region and State and Local Government sector
• Oversee engagement delivery, ensure high quality outputs and client satisfaction
• Lead practice development, performance appraisals and IP generation
• Coach and mentor junior staff in core consulting skills
• Coordinate across teams for proposals, pricing, and risk reviews
• Manage multiple delivery streams and senior client interactions, including with C-suite
