Job summary

San Francisco Post Acute is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Staff Development / Infection Prevention (DSD/IP) Nurse to join our team full-time. This role reports to the DON and works closely with leadership to elevate resident care, staff competency, and regulatory compliance.

The DSD/IP Nurse will plan, coordinate, and implement orientation, education, competency training, in-service programs, and infection prevention activities while providing direct resident care when needed.

Qualifications

• Current and valid nursing license required.
• Previous experience in staff development, infection prevention, education, skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute care preferred.
• Strong knowledge of nursing practices, infection prevention, staff education, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and implement facility orientation programs for nursing staff and other employees.
• Develop and provide job skills training, in-service education, competency programs, and required staff education.
• Coordinate and oversee a Certification Training Program for nursing assistants, when applicable.
• Organize, conduct, document, and evaluate required in-service education programs.
• Assess staff education needs using information from surveys, evaluations, rounds, audits, and recommendations.
