Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Director of Software Engineering in the Corporate & Investment Bank to lead a 20+ engineering team responsible for the centralized ingress layer handling authentication, authorization, traffic management and observability across digital channels.

You will own delivery plans, set engineering standards, and drive architecture reviews while coordinating with security, infrastructure, and identity teams to decommission legacy components and complete migrations.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of industry experience, including 4+ years leading engineering teams.
• Proven track record managing teams of 15+ engineers across multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Strong hands-on grounding in ingress and gateway tech (Envoy and/or Kong).
• Working depth in OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect / PKCE; DPoP, mTLS, session management.
• Production Kubernetes experience (EKS and/or on-prem) and GitOps delivery models.
• Go development background to review control-plane code and set standards.
• Experience partnering with enterprise Architecture and security groups.
• Experience with DNS/CDN/WAF and certificate lifecycle & perimeter change.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery plan for the platform across all workstreams.
• Set and enforce engineering standards - code review, testing, observability, production readiness.
• Chair technical design reviews for gateway, control plane, and session management.
• Partner with enterprise Architecture to align the platform to reference architectures.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Network, Cybersecurity, and Identity teams on shared dependencies.
• Drive the LOB migration program and decommission legacy authentication components.
• Maintain an efficient delivery cadence - sprint planning, backlog grooming, risk and issue management.
