Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering AuthE Global within the Chief Technology Office and Identity & Access Management.

You will lead multiple technical areas, manage several departments, and drive adoption of advanced methods across teams to keep the firm at the forefront of innovation. You will own enterprise authentication platforms, guide security and performance governance, and mentor globally distributed engineers.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software development concepts with 10+ years of applied experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage complex items within your domain
• Experience owning end-to-end architecture for large-scale platforms (Java services, APIs, databases, messaging)
• Hands-on software engineering background with production-grade code in Java
• Proven leadership of mission-critical, high-volume customer-facing platforms
• Strong governance for security, resiliency, scalability, and performance across dev/test/prod
• Cross-functional leadership partnering with Product, Operations, Risk and Lines of Business

Responsibilities

• Define and lead engineering strategy for high-volume authentication platforms with strict availability targets.
• Serve as a senior technology advisor on Customer Authentication and IAM strategy.
• Provide enterprise-level architectural governance for customer authentication platforms.
• Own and evolve full-stack architecture across application, data, and infrastructure layers.
• Review designs for security, scalability, resiliency, and performance across environments.
• Drive execution across multiple enterprise initiatives and manage delivery risk.
• Decision-maker for resourcing, budget, and operating models.
• Partner with product and business units to align authentication capabilities with strategy and regulation.
• Lead and mentor globally distributed engineering teams toward excellence.
• Set multi-department strategies for AI-enabled engineering and SDLC automation, with guardrails.
• Apply SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to drive cross-domain reuse and capacity unlocks across departments.
