UMGC seeks a Skills Ontology and Learning Recognition Director in the Office of Registrar. This role leads the skills-to-credit framework and faculty-governed, transparent credit recommendations for a multi-institution learning-recognition initiative.

The director collaborates with Academic Affairs, Sponsored Programs, and technical staff to define translation methods, governance, and policy alignment for learning recognition.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, prior learning assessment, or learning recognition.
• Experience designing and governing methodologies for translating workforce or non-traditional learning into academic credit.

Aufgaben

• Set strategic direction for ontologies, translation framework, and credit methodology.
• Provide executive oversight of cross‑functional project plans, milestones, and dependencies.
• Lead faculty-engagement strategy for methodology review, QA, and governance decisions.
• Represent UMGC in external partnerships, interoperability discussions, and ecosystem initiatives.
• Supervise project staff, oversee budgeting and resource allocation, and ensure program governance.
