Job summary

JPMorganChase & Co. is seeking a Director of Software Engineering for the Secure Web Platform within the Digital Channels group.

You will lead a technical area, drive multiple complex projects, and act as a primary decision maker to deliver innovative software solutions and secure, scalable engineering practices. The role requires leadership of cross-functional technologists, adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering, and strong governance for speed, quality, and reliability across teams.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items.
• Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists.
• Experience leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering practices across teams, including defining operating expectations, measuring outcomes, and ensuring secure handling of inputs/outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use and control expectations in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, resiliency/security implications, and governance.
• Practical cloud native experience.
• Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives.
• Accountable for decisions influencing resources, budget, and operational execution of processes and procedures.
• Sets direction and governance for agentic AI-enabled engineering to drive improvements in speed, quality, and operational outcomes.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC toolchains and AI-assisted development to improve value and support capacity unlocks at scale.
• Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and portfolio operations.
• Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains.
• Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
