Job summary

OPAL Fuels is seeking a Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting with at least 10 years of experience. The role reports to the Chief Accounting Officer and is based at the White Plains, New York headquarters, with a hybrid office arrangement.

You will lead all SEC filings (10-Q/10-K), oversee GAAP and SOX compliance, coordinate with auditors, mentor a growing team, and partner with Investor Relations to communicate accounting positions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA with mix of public and corporate accounting experience; Big 4 experience preferred.
• 10+ years total, with at least 5 years in an SEC reporting role.
• Extensive GAAP, SEC filing and SOX experience.
• Strong technical accounting background and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all SEC filings (10-Q/10-K) including MD&A and footnotes.
• Maintain quarterly reporting timetable and milestones.
• Ensure compliance with new GAAP/SEC requirements and disclosures.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and coordinate with external auditors.
• Lead disclosure committee meetings and cross-functional reviews.
• Support Investor Relations with financial statements and positions.
• Mentor a growing team and drive staff development.
• Think strategically to redesign processes and improve efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
