Job summary

Form Energy seeks a Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to own U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting. The role leads external filings and complex accounting analyses across the company, partnering with Legal, IR, FP&A, and executives.

The position requires a CPA, 10+ years in accounting, and strong public-company experience with ASC 606/842 and SOX. Hybrid work, with three days on-site in Berkeley or other listed offices.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license is required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 4–5 years at a Big 4 or top-tier firm.
• Public company SEC reporting experience.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX 404 compliance.
• Excellent communication for explaining accounting concepts to executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEC reporting, external financial reporting, and filing of 10-K/10-Q/8-K and Proxy Statements.
• Oversee financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A.
• Review deliverables for quarterly earnings, investor presentations, and scripts with Investor Relations.
• Manage the XBRL tagging process and coordinate with Workiva/filing agents.
• Ensure accurate EPS, share-based compensation, and equity roll-forwards.
• Lead technical accounting policy work (ASC 606/842, business combinations, impairments).
• Lead accounting integration for M&A and updates to policies manual.
• Maintain SOX controls and liaise with external auditors.
