Job summary

MasTec Power Delivery seeks a Director of Safety System & Program Excellence to lead the Safety Management System, information management, analytics, and strategic safety initiatives. The role partners with operations, HR, IT, and leadership to reduce risk and elevate safety performance across all business units.

The position requires deep safety expertise, systems thinking, and proven leadership of enterprise-scale programs, with a focus on data-driven decision making and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Industrial Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive safety, operational excellence, systems management, or program management experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and enterprise-level initiatives.
• Experience administering safety management systems and enterprise software platforms.
• Strong understanding of incident management, safety analytics, auditing, corrective action management, and risk reduction principles.
• Advanced proficiency in data analysis, dashboard development, KPI management, and business reporting.
• Experience developing policies, standards, procedures, and governance processes.
• Strong project management and change management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and administer the Safety Management System (SMS) for MasTec Power Delivery.
• Establish governance to ensure effective SMS implementation across the org.
• Develop, maintain, and deploy HSE policies, standards, and procedures.
• Oversee safety communications, bulletins, alerts, and lessons learned.
• Align safety programs across operating companies and regions.
• Oversee the Safety Information Management System configuration and administration.
• Manage weekly data imports, hierarchy maintenance, and workflow administration.
• Ensure data integrity, system reliability, and alignment with business needs.
• Partner with IT and vendors for system enhancements and future-ready improvements.
• Develop safety scorecards, dashboards, and executive reports.
• Establish KPIs and monitor safety performance trends.
• Provide actionable insights to leadership for risk reduction.
• Support operational reporting, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop standardized reporting methodologies and data quality practices.
• Design and maintain safety workflows, forms, automations, and processes.
• Lead development of new modules and system enhancements.
• Establish QA/QC processes for system functionality.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency via automation and tech integration.
• Manage testing, validation, deployment, and change management.
• Lead New Hire Orientation curriculum development and onboarding.
• Oversee instructional design and training effectiveness audits.
• Support onboarding to ensure safety expectations across staff.
• Collaborate to enhance leadership and employee development programs.
