Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. seeks a Director of Enterprise Architecture to lead the architecture function in Dublin, CA.

You will drive IT strategy and roadmap, guiding a team of enterprise architects, solution architects, and external consultants to deliver architecture that supports merchants, planners, supply chain, stores and marketing. You will oversee strategic planning, governance, and collaboration with business leaders, ensuring alignment with retail best practices and cost-effective technology

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture in Retail industry and 15+ years combined in IT Technologies, Solution architecture, or systems.
• Experience supervising enterprise architects, solution architects, consultants and external vendor resources.
• Experience in Retail domains (Merchandising, Planning, Forecasting, Supply chain, Stores, Marketing, Digital), SaaS/Packages, Cloud platforms, Business capability modeling, AI/ML, Gen AI.
• Solid understanding of industry best practices in Retail and Enterprise Architecture – ARTS, NRF models, TOGAF, Archimate.
• Ability to anticipate and handle complex issues, drive negotiations and resolve conflicts.
• 5+ years of experience managing a team of enterprise architects, solution architects and consultants.
• Ability to perform basic financial analysis (ROI, TCO).
• Strong analytical, judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication with VP+ executives.
• Ability to work with geographically distributed teams across time zones.
• Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain strategic technology roadmap.
• Participate in IT 5-year planning and budgeting.
• Provide architecture consultancy for Application and Technology portfolio planning.
• Supervise other architects in roadmap development.
• Negotiate to balance holistic organizational needs with retail practices.
• Provide EA thought leadership to a cohesive team and external experts.
• Perform strategic business analysis and process improvements.
• Lead exploration of new applications, technologies and infrastructure.
• Ensure deliverables are aligned with enterprise architecture and are on time and budget.
• Present EA content to executives and stakeholders.
