Position Overview

The Director of Retail Category Development will lead our strategic category management initiatives, overseeing assortment-related deliverables and developing tailored strategies for various retail environments. This role involves leading a team of four, collaborating across departments, and establishing Hill’s as a thought leader in pet nutrition retail.

Key Responsibilities

1. Category & Brand Strategies (40%)

• Manage SKU health, portfolio alignment, and new item launches.
• Develop assortment strategies and identify growth opportunities.
• Set distribution targets and leverage digital tools for data-driven strategies.

Retail Environment Strategies (30%)

• Create tailored 6P strategies for each retail environment.
• Lead category strategy development and commercialization.
• Execute category vision with retail partners.

Leadership (30%)

• Oversee professional development of team members.
• Lead the Retail Category Development Center of Excellence.
• Manage resources and drive organizational transformation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years in category management or related roles.
• Expertise in syndicated data sources and retail data platforms.
• Strong analytical, storytelling, and leadership skills.
• Passion for pet nutrition and strategic growth.

Compensation & Benefits
