Job summary

NYC Department of Social Services seeks an Administrative Job Opportunity Specialist NM-II to lead the Renewal & Review Conference Unit within Rental Assistance. The role directs staff performance, develops corrective actions, and coordinates with city agencies to meet housing program goals.

Responsibilities include handling policy data analysis, ensuring process integrity, and driving service improvements while liaising with courts and community partners.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, plus four years of satisfactory full-time experience in related services, with at least eighteen months in a supervisory capacity.
• A four-year high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of related full-time experience, with at least eighteen months in supervisory capacity.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above, with a high school diploma and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate and monitor renewal and review staff within Rental Assistance units to meet agency goals and standards.
• Develop corrective action plans and trainings to eliminate deficit areas and implement new procedures.
• Intercede when supervisory alerts require higher involvement and oversight.
• Liaise with NYC Housing Court judges, DHS, HPD, NYCHA, officials and housing providers to meet agency needs.
• Analyze data from multiple systems to inform policy issues for renewal and review units.
• Assure integrity of the Review Conference process and ensure adherence to guidelines.
