Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs seeks a Senior Director, Renewable Development to steer utility-scale solar, storage, and wind projects across the Southwestern United States. You will lead early to late-stage development with a focus on aligning with strategic company goals and obtaining critical permits.

You will manage site control, interconnection activities, budgeting, and cross-functional teams while engaging with landowners, officials, and customers to drive project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 10+ years in renewables or similar.
• Experience leading multi-discipline teams across wind/solar/storage.
• Travel readiness 25–40%, valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead development activities for wind, solar, and storage projects in SPP/ERCOT.
• Align projects with long-term company strategy and initiatives; assess markets and sites.
• Secure site control via leases, easements, and landowner agreements.
• Coordinate landowner communications and stakeholder engagement.
• Lead permit processes at local, state, and federal levels with stakeholders.
• Initiate and manage interconnection activities.
• Oversee project design, budgeting, and scheduling; coordinate internal/external support.
