Job summary

Strata Clean Energy is seeking a Director/Senior Manager to lead a portfolio of utility-scale solar and storage projects across the Southwestern and Western U.S. This hands-on role combines project leadership with cross-functional collaboration across permitting, interconnection, engineering, legal, origination and commercial teams.

The ideal candidate will mentor 1–2 junior staff, drive projects from greenfielding to commercialization, and report to the SW Regional Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent in a related field.
• Master’s degree is preferred for advanced leadership responsibilities.
• Proven experience in utility-scale renewables development and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple utility-scale solar and battery storage projects through development stages from site origination to NTP, sale, or close.
• Anticipate and manage development risks related to land, permitting, environmental, and transmission.
• Oversee development budgets, risk tracking, schedules, and project reporting.
• Prepare projects for investment committee, commercialization, and transaction handoff.
• Manage contractors and consultants and interface with lenders and counsel on financing/M&A.
• Partner with permitting, interconnection, land, engineering, origination, and other teams to advance projects.
• Ensure development strategy aligns with portfolio priorities, capital discipline, and risk tolerance.
• Mentor 1–2 junior development team members and provide clear ownership and coaching.
• Maintain accurate project status, schedules, and risk assessments; provide updates to senior leadership.
• Be prepared for frequent travel to meet landowners, officials, and project teams.
