Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead Enterprise Shared Services. You will oversee technology strategy, drive real-time platforms, and mentor a high-performing team across cross-functional lines.

The role emphasizes collaboration with domain owners, architects, and stakeholders to deliver scalable cloud-native solutions using Java, Spring, and Kafka. Expect influence across the organization and opportunities for strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of expertise as a software engineering leader.
• 10+ years practical knowledge of cloud platforms.
• 10+ years practical knowledge of advanced software design patterns & architecture (DDD, Simple Design) and DevOps.
• 3+ years of experience with real-time event-driven, microservice architecture using Kafka.
• 5+ years of proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, streaming technologies (Kafka) and microservices.
• Demonstrated experience building and managing production-grade systems with non-functional requirements.
• 5+ years of direct management experience.
• Proven track record delivering scalable cloud-native solutions with Java, Python, SQL and AWS.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Occasionally coding or evaluating code when needed.
