Job summary

The State of Michigan's Unemployment Insurance Agency seeks a Director of the Quality and Performance Division in Michigan. This senior leader will plan, organize, direct, and control federal quality, compliance, and reporting functions, establishing policies, performance expectations, and improvement strategies to meet USDOL standards.

Work location will be Lansing or Detroit with possible remote/hybrid arrangements; all work must occur in Michigan.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field with management experience.
• At least five years of professional experience, including two years as a manager or program/staff specialist.
• Ability to interpret federal requirements and align programs with USDOL standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and control the agency’s quality, compliance, performance, data validation, and reporting functions.
• Develop current and long-range plans, policies, performance expectations, and improvement strategies.
• Lead efforts to ensure accurate federal UI reporting and program performance.
