Job summary

Aecon is seeking a Director of Project Controls to lead the governance of costs, schedules, risks, and performance for large-scale infrastructure programs. You will mentor project controls professionals and partner with project teams to drive excellence across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

You will oversee WBS/CBS/RBS alignment, manage change, and deliver weekly to executive reports using Primavera P6, SAP, Enight, Excel, and Power BI.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 15 years of total experience, including at least 7 years in Project Controls on large-scale projects.
Experience managing or supervising large Project Controls teams.
Strong proficiency in Project Controls tools (Primavera P6 mandatory), SAP, InEight, Excel, Power BI.

Responsibilities

Developing, implementing, and governing the Project Controls Plan as part of the Project Execution Plan.
Developing the cost structure, master schedule, and baseline estimate, including baseline curves.
Leading and supporting a team of Project Controls specialists across cost, scheduling, risk, and reporting.
Overseeing variance analysis and communicating root causes with mitigation plans.
Managing changes and ensuring cost and schedule visibility to clients and leadership.
Leading risk management activities and integrating into forecasting.
Producing performance reports and ensuring data quality in Primavera, SAP, Enight, Excel, and Power BI.
Contributing to overall project performance through leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
