Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Construction & Development is seeking a Director, Program Support to oversee administrative and budget functions for capital projects. The role reports to the Vice President Program Executive and is based at 2 Broadway with regular daytime hours and occasional after-hours as needed.

The position requires leadership in project data analysis, reporting, and coordination across C&D and MTA agencies, with telework eligibility of one day per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction within their area of responsibility to ensure effective implementation of administrative processes and provide recommendations for efficient and effective departmental or business unit operations.
• Manage provision and coordination of administrative functions within their area of responsibility or a business unit, including capital project budget administration, procurement requests, payment coordination, timecard/job charge management, space management, non-revenue vehicle management, training/travel requests, overtime management, audit response, internal controls, and/or equipment/supplies management.
• Coordinate with related parties throughout C&D and the MTA agencies.
• Manage the development, analysis, reporting, and maintenance of data and related systems required for effective operations in project management, business units, or departmental operations.
• Provide input into overall strategy and approach in consultation with senior management.
• May manage budget activities and requests for a program of capital projects within a business unit or for departmental operations.
• Directly prepare data analysis, reporting, and presentations related to capital project management, business unit, and/or departmental operations.

Telework

This position is eligible for telework, which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.

S ummary

The Director Program Support has a significant level of authority for the decision-making, staffing, and budget for their functional area of responsibility, subject to approval regarding the most critical issues by senior management within MTA Construction & Development. Decision-making authority is somewhat defined as the freedom to determine how to accomplish work goals. The Director is guided by various procedures and specialized standards. Make recommendations for policy and procedural changes with final approval from senior management and support the implementation of such changes.
