Job summary

Avantus is seeking a Director, Procurement to drive large-scale procurement strategies for PV, HV, and BESS projects in California's expanding clean energy portfolio. You will lead EPC contract negotiations, manage the full procurement lifecycle with EPCs and equipment suppliers, and partner with Legal to standardize contracting while optimizing CAPEX and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree (STEM or MBA).
• Proven ability to lead complex commercial negotiations.
• Experience negotiating EPC and equipment contracts (commercial and technical).
• Experience in renewable energy and BESS with large capex budgets.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized with ability to multi-task and meet tight timelines.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
• 5–10 years of procurement or commercial transactions experience.
• 1+ years of BESS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute large-scale procurement strategies for PV, HV, and BESS projects.
• Lead procurement selections with EPCs and equipment; manage contracting frameworks.
• Negotiate EPC contracts and oversee full EPC procurement lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Legal on standardized contracting practices.
• Drive cost optimization, CAPEX reviews, and value engineering.
• Build partnerships with EPC firms and suppliers.
• Provide input during preconstruction and RFP responses.
