Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Director, Pre-Construction to lead pursuit development for major U.S. civil infrastructure opportunities.

You will oversee multidisciplinary teams and shape strategic capture efforts to win multibillion-dollar Design-Build, PDB, CMGC, and P3 opportunities. The role demands deep operating and construction expertise, strong commercial acumen, and executive leadership to drive growth and improve win rates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil infrastructure construction, management, or pre-construction leadership.
• Minimum 7+ years leading large-scale alternative delivery pursuits with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven success delivering major infrastructure projects over $500M; experience on >$1B preferred.
• Experience with Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, CMGC, Alliance, and P3 delivery models.
• Strong understanding of transportation, aviation, marine, industrial, and water/wastewater markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction strategy for major U.S. civil infrastructure pursuits.
• Partner with executives to identify and qualify strategic opportunities.
• Develop capture plans, win themes, and pursuit plans; oversee executive reviews.
• Direct multidisciplinary pursuit teams across regions and market sectors.
• Ensure competitive technical and commercial submissions and risk management.
