Job summary

Vistra Corporate Services Company in Irving, Texas, is seeking a Power Fundamentals Modeling professional. You will build and deploy models supporting longer-horizon forecasting and POV evaluations, working with a vendor and IT to productionize solutions.

You will advance software with the developer, extend existing tools, and operationalize new fundamental models across ERCOT, PJM, and additional markets as needed. A strong background in power modeling and data science is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Power Modeling, Power Flow Analysis, Data Science, Quantitative Analysis, or related discipline
• Production cost modeling skills and experience with PSO, Promod, Aurora preferred
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; strong communication, presentation, and report skills
• Minimum education is High School Diploma or equivalency

Responsibilities

• Build modeling tools with vendor and IT to productionize solutions
• Advance software with the developer and extend models as needed
• Introduce and operationalize new fundamental models across ERCOT, PJM, and other markets
• Collaborate with Regulatory Policy on market design changes
• Benchmark POVs and lead market fundamentals analyses after peak events
• Engage with subscription vendors to maximize data value and maintain relationships
• Balance workload and take on additional assignments in Structuring, Fundamentals, and Quantitative Analysis
