Job summary

Commence is seeking a Director of PMO to lead the program management office for a rapidly scaling healthcare data and technology company serving federal, state, and commercial markets. This remote role reports to the COO and focuses on establishing a robust PMO, governance, and talent bench across a portfolio of government and commercial programs.

Candidate experience includes standing up PMO infrastructures in growth environments, mastery of federal contracting practices, and strong leadership

Qualifications

• 10+ years of program and project management experience.
• At least 3 years leading a PMO or PM team in government contracting or tech-enabled services.
• Deep working knowledge of federal contract execution: FFP, T&M, cost-type; EAC, CDRL, subcontractor coordination.
• Experience standing up or maturing PMO infrastructure in growth-stage environments (PE-backed preferred).
• PMP certification or equivalent demonstrated mastery.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Federal Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Establish and run the PMO as a shared service: standards, templates, artifacts, tooling, and cadences.
• Maintain and improve the delivery methodology and operating model.
• Define assurance and improvement practices: root cause analysis and lessons learned.
• Run the delivery review cadence and safeguard PM-sourced data and inputs.
• Coordinate with Contracts and Finance to keep contract one-sheets and invoicing on track.
• Recruit and onboard PM talent ahead of portfolio growth.
• Coordinate with Executive Directors and the technical delivery organization.
