Nter Talent is partnering with a leading online grocery innovator to appoint a Director of Merchandising Meat, Poultry & Seafood. This senior leadership role owns Category Management, Merchandising, and Pricing across the department, shaping category strategy, vendor partnerships, and a high-performing team.

The ideal candidate has 8–10+ years in grocery retail or ecommerce, with deep exposure to perishable categories, pricing, sourcing, and supply chain.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in Grocery Retail, eCommerce, or Food Retail.
• Strong track record in merchandising and category management.
• Experience with perishable departments is preferred.
• Proven ability to develop pricing strategies and manage vendor partnerships.
• Experience leading and developing cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own Category Management, Merchandising, and Pricing for Meat, Poultry, Seafood, and Deli.
• Develop and execute strategic category plans to grow sales and optimize assortment.
• Drive financial and operational performance against goals and take corrective action.
• Lead and develop a team of Category Managers to achieve accountability and customer focus.
• Hold vendors accountable to performance metrics including sales, funding, and compliance.
• Strengthen supplier partnerships to unlock synergies and mutual growth.
• Oversee daily department operations, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize supply chain, replenishment, and inventory strategies.
• Respond to food safety issues and implement preventative measures to protect quality.
• Partner with Operations to drive continuous improvement in product quality and customer experience.
