Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum is seeking a strategic leader to drive payer affordability and value creation within Behavioral Health. The Director partners across clinical, network, finance, analytics and client teams to shape initiatives from concept to measurable outcomes, aligning with business goals and customer needs.

The role requires executive presence, proven cross-functional leadership and a track record of delivering complex programs in healthcare.

Qualifications

12+ years of experience in healthcare, managed care, consulting, strategy, operations, affordability or related field.
10+ years leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with accountability for strategy, execution and outcomes.
Ability to translate cost and performance improvements into executable initiatives.

Responsibilities

Own the payer value creation and affordability agenda with priorities, goals and roadmaps.
Identify trends and translate insights into actions to reduce cost and improve outcomes.
Manage a portfolio of affordability initiatives across clinical, network and operations.
Lead initiatives from opportunity to design, approval, implementation and measurement.
Develop rigorous business cases and value models; partner with Finance and analytics.
Establish portfolio governance, workplans, status reporting and executive updates.
Align stakeholders across Optum Behavioral Health and the broader enterprise; communicate progress to leaders.
